  • WHAT IS THE USCF AND WHY DO I NEED AN ACTIVE USCF ID NUMER?


The United States Chess Federation (also known as US Chess or USCF) is the governing body for chess competition in the United States and represents the US. Membership in the USCF allows the chess player to participate in our National Rating System. An active USCF ID number is necessary to play in rated USCF tournaments in the US.

  • WHAT IS A CHESS RATING AND HOW DO I GET ONE?


After you become a member of US Chess and play in a US chess rated event, the organizer of the event will send the results to US Chess and a rating will be calculated.
